CT Audubon Society – Birdwatching for Beginners (3-29-20)

If you have you ever wondered what types of birds you are seeing in your backyard or how you can improve their stay when they pass through, look no further than this Birdwatching for Beginners program.
At the Birdhouse Coffee shop, you can learn to identify the birds that visit your yard by Teacher Naturalist, Jessica LaPolt, from the CT Audubon Society. Simple bird guides will be available as you also learn how to keep an ongoing list of these birds and what the best methods are to inviting them into your backyard. You will be going on a short hike during this program, so please wear appropriate attire. Rain or shine and you’re encouraged to bring binoculars. $15 per person and online registration is required.

Meet our Teacher Naturalist

Jessica LaPolt is a Teacher Naturalist with the CT Audubon Society. She has worked in providing environmental education to the public for four years and is passionate about the Audubon’s mission of spreading awareness about conservation and sustainability.
Jessica received her degree in Environmental Studies and completed the Master Wildlife Conservationist training providing through the CT DEEP.
She strives to provide excellent programs such as these for the enjoyment of the public and to push their interests towards that of the healthy future of our planet.
