Horizon Wings: Birds of Prey, Night & Day Program

May 7, 2023 11:00 am - 12:00 pm CT Valley Brewing

Explore the world of raptors that share the same habitat but are active at different times – day and night. Falcons, hawks, and eagles often occupy the same territories as nocturnal owls: hardwood or mixed forests, pastures and marshlands, and even our suburbs and urban areas. Learn about what makes each species successful in its environment and the special adaptations they have for being diurnal or nocturnal.

Come and Experience these birds up close and hear about their tales as well as get educated about how you can help these birds in the wild and how you can help the Horizon Wings program.

Horizon Wings was formed in 2001 by Mary-Beth Kaeser as a 501C3 non-profit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center specializing in Birds of Prey located in Ashford, CT.   Horizon Wings has several raptors that cannot be released back into the wild due to their injuries.  Fortunately we are able to keep these birds at our center and, with a special permit, use them for educational programs.

Our mission at Horizon Wings is to rehabilitate birds of prey for release into the wild in order to maintain their population,
and to educate the community to enhance awareness of the environment.

It is our hope by doing this that we reach people of all ages and create the desire in them to help preserve our natural world.
