Event Description
Join us for a unique evening of science, nature, and local brews as we welcome South Windsor resident and professional Entomologist Matthew!
Matthew brings years of experience in entomology outreach, having led programs for libraries, state parks, land trusts, and schools. This family-friendly program will begin with an interactive presentation outside, where Matthew will share practical ways to support local biodiversity in your own backyard, with a focus on native plants, caterpillars, moths, and their vital connection to local songbird populations. Matthew will be bringing some live insects for this presentation, while also engaging with the local moths of CT Valley Brewing Company. After, Matthew will set up a moth sheet with lights to attract and showcase the incredible diversity of moths and other nocturnal insects that often go unnoticed. This is a rare chance to observe these up close in a fun, hands-on setting.
Whether you're a science lover, gardener, nature enthusiast, or just looking for a fun and educational night out with the family, this program is for you! All ages welcome!
